Gerdif you do this, please do it as a separate command, changing the behaviour of an existing button would be confusing.

Marsellus WallaceCould be done with an additional checkbox/option in the dialogue maybe instead of an extra command

I would like to have a way to set a service state via the checkmk api. This should be independent of whether an agent is installed or not. Some applications can call a URL with parameters in case of an event.
An example of a use case where the checkinterval of an agent is too large:
Opening and closing a door. This is faster than the 1 min check interval. Here the event would not be noticed. -

Robert Sander MergedYou can use the multisite API to send the same commands that can be sent from the web GUI.
Just look at how the “Fake Check Result” command is implemented. -

Lars SörensenIf the number of events to be triggered could be specified, the count-up and the change from soft to hard could also be simulated. This could also be used to test event-count-dependent actions such as Alert handlers, Restrict to notification number, Throttle periodic notifications and so on.

Marsellus WallaceLars S., the count of events does not have influence on periodic notifications, these are time dependent...

Niklas Pulina AdminHello,
2
Based on your feedback, we will introduce a brand new "Test notifications" feature in Checkmk 2.3 which will enable you to test notifications based on the "hard state" of a service/host.
The functionality is available upstream and will be published with the next major release.
For more details, please see https://checkmk.com/werk/16308
Thanks to everyone who helped us shape this new feature!
By the way: The old "Fake check results" functionality will of course still be available - we even applied some neat UX improvements to it.
Warm regards,
Your Checkmk team
