Add alternative time periods like "start at last day of month 20:00 and end 12 hours later"
We have many measurement points that have much higher levels over the month, quarter or year end than during the rest of the time. This leads to many false alarms because these periods are not based on weekly repetition and do not always fall on the same day of the week.
It would be very helpful if you could also define time periods like:
- start on the nth day of the month at 20:00 and end after x hours (calculate end time)
- start x hours bevor the end at nth day of the month at 08:00 (calculate start time)
- start/end on every nth weekday or day of the month with a duration of x hours (calculate start or end time)
Define a start or end time and a duration similar to the way it can be defined for recurring downtimes.

Robert SanderThe REST-API provides endpoints to edit time periods. You should be able to build a script that uses the API to set your custom requirements.

Lars SörensenWe need as example a special timeperiod "MonthEnd" that starts last working day of the Month 18:00 and ends first working day of the month 08:00.
So, your solution would be to update the timeperiods on a weekly schedule via the REST API. In our Case the Job would then need to do the following:
If in the current week Tuesday is the last workingday, the job writes into the "MonthEnd" time period:
DI 18:00-24:00
MI 00:00-08:00
If in the current week Friday is the last workingday, the job writes into the "MonthEnd" time period:
FR 18:00-24:00
SA 00:00-24:00
SO 00:00 -24:00
MO 00:00-08:00
If there is no last working day in the current week, the timeperiod "MonthEnd" will be left empty.
Of course, this would be a possible solution to the problem. For most of the Customers it would be more user-friendly, clearer and less error-prone if Checkmk would offer an integrated solution for this. Not every Checkmk Customer is a developer or Checkmk integrator ;-) -

Thomas Lippert AdminQuestion regarding the "working day" feature. Should this request also take care of local calendars, e.g. German vs. Swiss public holidays?
