Cluster: allow again clusters with different datasources

Please allow again, that in Checkmk the clusters has different datasources, like it was before in version 1.2.
It is technically the fact that the clusters has not always the same datasource.

Using host nodes with different data sources in a cluster host has never been allowed. We implemented a validation, that a user is not able to do this (never been allowed) mistake, anymore. See also these two werks: https://checkmk.com/werk/11016 & https://checkmk.com/werk/13530

We could rewrite this suggestion to "Allow different data sources in cluster hosts". But then we also need some description, why one would need that and what's the problem, that should be solved with this feature.

Yes rewrite the suggestion.
But in the previous versions there was no Warning messages about datasource problems at a cluster and their nodes. This was ok for us.
Anyway, it is the fact that we get technical cluster informations which includes different nodes with different datasources.
We are not able to change that, it is the technical behaviour of these nodes anf hence the cluster.
My suggestion is to provide a switch/rule which will disable the verification for special clusters and their nodes (based ob the normal rule selection). This would help a lot to be flexible and get as well the verification if needed.

Can you give an example, when it is needed to have different nodes with different data sources? Usually, a cluster contains nodes of the same type. Your use case is not straight forward. To understand and vote for this suggestion, one needs a use case, that is understood and shared by other users.

We've that problem.

NO - It can't be said usually!
The technique in our environment is like it is, the cluster consists of different hosts with different data sources.
That's why we discussed that problem years with Checkmk.
Please open the ticket again that it can be voted on it.

As well I didn't got a mail from the Ticketsystem that you migrate the tickets in the FR portal.
That is confusing the situation.

We've different hosts with different data sources as cluster.Theses definitions are done technically and are not selectable from us, it is given by the used software/technique.

My suggestion is to provide a switch in the cluster rule which will disable the verification for clusters data source and their nodes. This would help a lot to be flexible and get as well the verification if needed.

Hi JP, your seconds last comment has been the reason, why I asked for examples. Why and in which case is the sentence "Usually, a cluster contains nodes of the same type." wrong? If you have this use case, please describe this use case, so everybody is able to understand. It's not a clarification for tribe29, but for all the other users on this portal. These are the people, you want to convince, that they vote for this request.
Convincing tribe29, this is a valid feature, is only a small part.
