  We are currently a rework of the MSSQL plugin. As part of this, this MIGHT happen, but we can not guarantee it yet.

  We are very(!) happy to hear, that this might happen. The ability to monitor MSSQL on Linux is basically the only (but a BIG) missing piece in our monitoring solution. We would offer to support you in this area (e.g. with testing a beta version of the new plugin).
  
  Do you have a rough estimate, when such a new plugin (if at all) could be available? Would it be within weeks or within months?
  
  Please note that in our case, we run MSSQL in a Docker container, so ideally there would be an (easy) way to use the new plugin to monitor MSSQL not only if it is installed on a Linux host directly, but also if it runs in a Linux Docker container. (We know of course that we could build a custom Docker image based on the MSSQL Docker image, which includes the Checkmk agent. But ideally there would be an option to monitor MSSQL running in a Docker container from a Checkmk agent running in a kind of a sidecar Docker container sharing some volumes and/or accessing the SQL server via sqlcmd.)

  Hi Niklas. Thanks! Do you have a rough estimate, when such a new plugin (if at all) could be available? Would it be within weeks or within months? Or at least until when you will know for sure whether or not MSSQL monitoring on Linux will be implemented?

  Hi Tobias, we're aiming for a plugin that is usable both on Windows and Linux. However, it's rather a matter of months than of weeks.
