Colored folders with icons

When using the main directory folder or subfolders it would be very nice to create colored folders with icon support. It makes it easier to see different folders.

Hi Clemens,
would it be sufficient, if we offer a fixed set of colors from a combo box? IMHO this should be sufficient for most use cases.
Same question for icons. If we have a limited list of technical icons, which can mix and match with the colors, would this be sufficient? Of course, it would be helpful to get list of folder categories, for which we need to find icons as input. Do you have such?

As workaround you can make a custom theme that gives those folders different background-images and thus colours or even icons.
I used Inkscape to quickly resize icon_folder_blue.svg a bit and saved it as 2 different colours for this example.

thank you for your reply on this topic. I have to say that my version of a color picker is a little bit too much/extreme. Also I agree that a fixed set of colors from a combo box would be sufficient but a RGB slider would be great. Another solution would be to replace the existing folders with a .png or .svg file. By this solution I could design my own folders and icons. The workaround by Yggy (thx Yggy) is too complex but a simple button to upload custom .png and .svg would be great.
In our Ckeckmk environment we would add logos from our customers and add icons from switches, servers, applications, OS, etc. Additionally we would colorize the folders to a similar color to our customers.
