on/off Switch for API

Hello,
in our company and probably in general, more and more things are automated. Among other things, this is also possible in the monitoring environment due to the excellent checkmk API. Occasionally (e.g. when updating the checkmk backend), however, situations arise in which we want to deactivate the API so that no external requests/changes are sent to checkmk via the API. It would therefore be desirable to be able to switch the API on and off via the master control in a similar way to the other modules that already exist (notifications, service checks, etc.).
