Moving Hosts into another Folder if they get a specific label
I just started my journey on labeling everything and deploying rules over said labels.
We have a "Unknown" Folder where everything that gets scanned moves in first.
Labels are carried out via Regex for DNS names and in this Unknown Folder it applies automatically.
I searched for it but couldnt find it sadly, to move labeled Hosts into the Folder they need to go.
It would be pretty nice, because I just love this label system and it would make it much more powerfull! A warning when I set Label to Folder when the label is allready in use would be a bonus

Niklas Pulina AdminHi, thank you for your suggestion.
Both labels and folders are structural elements for defining rule conditions. It is already possible to use folders as a condition for the automatic creation of labels. If we were to allow the other direction as well (labels define the folder), this would result in mutual dependencies that could quickly lead to undesired effects. We therefore ask for your understanding that we will not implement this request.
Depending on your use case however, using our REST API might be helpful to automate moving hosts between different folders. In Checkmk, you can find the API documentation under "Help > REST API documentation". -

uncreativeMakes a ton of sense! Thank you for the quick reply. It was just a thought of my side because our network constantly changes because we move from "company network" to a microsegmented one, and it would be helpfull for new hardware to tag the label based on DNS and move them into the right folder.
Thanks anyway it is a "we" problem not a checkmk one :)
